Aston Villa have signed four players during the early part of the summer transfer window as Dean Smith prepares for life in the Premier League.

Lee Hendrie has urged Aston Villa to sign Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings on a permanent basis because he feels Dean Smith will need his leadership skills at the back.
Hendrie also thinks that Villa also need to add another extra pair of legs up front despite the signing of Club Brugge forward Wesley.
Centre-back Mings was on-loan at Villa during the previous campaign, and his six-month spell at Villa Park was a memorable one because he helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League.
The Birmingham Mail have claimed that Villa are in talks to sign Mings on a permanent basis, with the £15 million rated left-footed defender returning to England recently.
Speaking to TalkSport (23/06/2019 at 3:50 pm), former Villa midfielder, Hendrie stated what he thinks the club needs to do in the transfer market as they prepare for a return to the big time.
“Very exciting times, it’s something we have all been waiting for,” Hendrie told TalkSport. “We are back in the big time where this club belongs because of the history of the place and the foundations of Villa Park. It’s Premier League throughout.
“Now, it’s just how Dean buys and brings the right personnel into the team. I’m hoping he brings in Tyrone Mings again. He was one of the key players for Villa towards the latter stages of last season. They needed a big leader and he fitted the bill. Defensively, they need to be solid going into the Premier League.
“I feel they have plenty going forward. Of course, we have taken out Tammy, who has gone back to Chelsea. That is a big area I think they need to bolster on. They have bought a couple of signing, Wesley, I don’t know much about him. He looks like a big physical presence.”

Pushing through a deal for Mings is what the Villa supporters are waiting for because they are well aware of what he can bring to the table.
Not only can he produce the goods for the team at the back, but his calmness and leadership qualities ensures that he brings the best out of those around him.
Wolves defender Kortney Hause, who was also one of the loan success last season, made his move from Molineux to Villa Park permanent this month.
