Ex-Villa star Lee Hendrie sat down for an exclusive interview with the Express & Star, and raved about the quality of Jack Grealish, comparing him to Tottenham ace Dele Alli.

Grealish has really showcased his potential this season, despite some niggling injury problems, and he has proven himself to be a really important member of Steve Bruce’s side.

The 22-year-old has endured problems off the pitch during his fledgling career thus far, but he seems to have matured as both a footballer and a human being this season.

Hendrie knows what it’s all about to be young payer with such high expectations at Villa, and he told the Express & Star how good he believes Grealish can actually become:

Jack Grealish of Aston Villa reacts during the Sky Bet Championship match between Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers at Villa Park on March 13, 2018 in Birmingham, England.

“There’s always been that talk that we’re quite similar but I think Jack’s an unreal talent, I really do. I certainly do [think he can become an England regular], we look at creative players and you look at the Dele Alli’s of the world and I think he can definitely be an England international for sure. He’s got stacks and stacks of ability, he ghosts past players with ease. It’s difficult with him being in the Championship, he needs to be on show every week in the Premier League and I think people will start to realise what this kid’s got about himself.”

One thing that Grealish must improve upon is his productivity in the final third.

He has chalked up just seven goals and 13 assists in 99 appearances for Villa.

Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspur reacts during the Premier League match between AFC Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur at Vitality Stadium on March 11, 2018 in Bournemouth, England.

Meanwhile, Dele, who is incredibly a year younger than the Villa man, has notched up an impressive 42 goals and 40 assists in 138 appearances for Spurs.

Grealish possesses an abundance of quality, of that there is no doubt, but he still has a long way to go, before he can even be considered for international duty with England.
