Arsenal have sparked outrage after confirming their intention to be part of the new breakaway Super League.
The Gunners announced the news late on Sunday night after hours of speculation surrounding their involvement.
Arsenal are one of six Premier League teams involved, alongside Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
At its base level, this is a money grab from Stan Kroenke and co, and joining something so clearly anti-competition is a galling move from one of the pillars of English football.
It seems even more brazen when you consider that Arsenal are nowhere near the Champions League and struggled to land a point against Fulham on the day the news broke.
Fans are protesting against the idea, and former players such as Ian Wright have been vocal in their criticism of the Gunners.

Now, Wright’s former teammate Lee Dixon has taken to Twitter to post just eight words in response to the decision; ‘What the hell has happened to my club?’
Dixon’s thoughts echo the feelings of many Arsenal fans, and they will be hoping that their club pull out of these plans sooner rather than later.
