Lee Dixon said on BBC Radio 5 live (7:53pm, February 15, 2021) that West Ham United attacker Said Benrahma would have been disappointed not to start against Sheffield United.
Benrahma, who can operate as a winger or as a forward, did not start for West Ham in their Premier League game against United at the London Stadium on Monday evening.
The Algeria international came on as a substitute in the 82nd minute, as the Hammers won 3-0.
Arsenal legend Dixon was following the match for BBC Radio 5 live, and he said that the 25-year-old would have been disappointed not to start.
Dixon said about Benrahma on BBC Radio 5 live (7:53pm, February 15, 2021): “It’s been a little bit disappointed, Benrahma, based on the fact that Antonio is not playing so not played an out-and-out striker.
“He is sitting on the bench with number 9 on his back, it might have something to do with his scoring record, but you would like to think that if you are a centre-forward of his quality signed for big money, then you would get a chance.”

Disappointing at West Ham United so far
Much was expected of Benrahma when he joined West Ham on loan from Brentford in the summer of 2020.
The attacker scored 17 goals in the Championship last season and 10 in the division in 2018-19, according to WhoScored.
However, the 25-year-old has not made a massive impact at the London Stadium so far this season.
According to WhoScored, Benrahma has made nine starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Hammers, providing four assists in the process.
As announced on West Ham’s official website in January 2021, the Premier League club made the loan move of the Algerian permanent.

Advice for Jesse Lingard
Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has suggested that Jesse Lingard should leave Manchester United permanently at the end of the season.
The England international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, joined West Ham on loan from United in the January transfer window until the end of the season.
Former United and West Ham defender Ferdinand has advice for the 28-year-old.
The Sun quotes Ferdinand as saying about Lingard: “He has experience of being on loan at clubs, this is nothing new to him. I think more importantly what’s his ambition here, beyond this season. What is he looking to do?
“If West Ham don’t put a bid in the buy him at the end of this loan I think this loan has to be seen as a failure. That’s got to be his aim – to get a bid from West Ham and other clubs to take him out of Man United.
“Because I don’t see him going back to Man United and really affecting that squad now. I think they’ve moved past him with the players they’ve recruited, he doesn’t feature and hasn’t done for so long.”
