Lee Dixon has claimed that Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold go through an ‘astonishing amount of work’ out on the pitch, as he told ITV Sport.
The Highbury legend, who knows too well what it takes to play at fullback, praised the Liverpool duo.
For a number of years now, both Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have been the creative thinkers in this remarkable Liverpool side.
The first to win a Premier League title in three decades and the one that added a sixth European crown to their name.
It has been some journey for the Merseyside giants, including the two bursting up and down their flanks, as Dixon had this to say.
“You imagine how many miles he (Robertson) gets through in a season,” said Dixon.
“Him and Alexander-Arnold. It’s an astonishing amount of work. The fullback role has changed a bit.”

ALEXANDER-ARNOLD AND ROBERTSON COSTING VERY LITTLE IN COMPARISON TO RIVALS
Whilst Manchester City have spent hundreds of millions on fullbacks, for Liverpool, it’s a different story.
Robertson joined the club for less than £10 million, whilst Alexander-Arnold came through the club’s academy.
For a number of years now, they have been two of the best in the business and the best is still probably to come from them.
The fullback duo will feel they are yet to hit their peak, with Alexander-Arnold, at the age of 23, already having a Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup medals to his name.
