Lee Dixon has hilariously put a Tottenham fan-based Twitter account in its place after they posted it was more than 2000 days since Arsenal finished above Spurs in the league. He reacted, citing Tottenham’s lack of trophies.
The race for fourth place is hotting up. Arsenal’s 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace on Monday has seen the Gunners surrender fourth to Tottenham, who beat Newcastle 5-1 on Sunday. Arsenal do have a game in hand on Spurs.
Both sit on 54 points, but the Gunners’ game in hand is against Chelsea. Then, the rescheduled North London derby has been pencilled in for May 12 – which is likely to have a huge say on who finishes in fourth place.
Antonio Conte has revived his Tottenham side, while Arsenal have two defeats in their last three. A Tottenham fan site poked fun at the Gunners, stating it is 2152 days since Arsenal finished above Spurs in the league.
Dixon responds to Tottenham account: Can Arsenal get fourth?
The momentum has certainly swung in Tottenham’s favour. Not only did Arsenal surrender fourth and lose 3-0 to Palace – but they have also lost both Kieran Tierney for the season, and Thomsa Partey to injury.
Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are firing on all cylinders and Spurs look good to retain their current position. The rivalry is as strong as ever, and Arsenal legend Dixon hilariously replied to the Tottenham account.
He clocked that it is more than 250,000 days since Tottenham last won a trophy, since Spurs won the 2008 League Cup.
