Despite losing to Newcastle in their most recent game, Leeds are flying in the Championship.

Lee Bowyer has told The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (broadcast on November 21st 2016) that Leeds United will soon be back in the Premier League, but on one condition.
Under Garry Monk, the Whites have made their brightest start to the season for several years. Despite tasting defeat against current table-toppers Newcastle United in their most recent game, Leeds are still seventh in the table and could have gone up to fourth in the Championship had they beaten the Magpies.
Despite the setback, former Leeds midfielder Bowyer has suggested that his old side have the potential to soon end their exile from the top flight, but only if they keep hold of Monk.
“If he does get time then he will do the job and he will get them promotion,” he told The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT.
“I think he’s a good, young manager and they’re playing football now which is decent football, so the club seems to be heading in the right direction so it would be a shame if they don’t keep him.”
Monk appears to have instilled a confidence in his squad that has perhaps been lacking over the last few years and should give the fans belief that they can certainly bounce back immediately following their last result.
And with the side’s recovery from a very slow start suggesting that they are developing rapidly, Leeds fans will surely be hoping that Massimo Cellino avoids living up to his ruthless reputation in future and allows Monk to oversee the full journey, which Bowyer believes could end with the Whites returning to the Premier League.
