Charlton Athletic are seemingly in the market for another midfielder.

Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer has told Football.London that he is looking to bring in another midfielder this month, possibly adding weight to rumours of a move for Leeds United’s Eunan O’Kane.
The Addicks drew 1-1 away at Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon, and Bowyer seemingly wants another addition to his squad having brought in Arsenal defender Krystian Bielik on loan earlier this week.
Speaking to Football.London, Bowyer admitted he is looking for another midfield player, because he is putting a lot of emphasis on his engine room and feels he needs more bodies to cope with the workload.
Bowyer no doubt has a number of options in mind, but his comments line up with recent reports about a potential swoop on his former club Leeds United.
The Yorkshire Evening Post recently reported that Charlton are eyeing up a move for Leeds outcast Eunan O’Kane, who has been frozen out of the Leeds first team by new manager Marcelo Bielsa this summer.
The Irishman was brought in by Garry Monk in 2016, but has divided opinion since his move from Bournemouth, with many Leeds fans calling for him to be moved on in order for the club to move forward.

O’Kane, 28, hasn’t even been given a squad number this season and is clearly available, and Charlton are the only club to have been linked with a move to sign him in recent weeks.
With Bowyer admitting his desire to bring in a new midfielder, it may be the perfect opportunity for O’Kane to move on and play – but whether he wants to drop into League One remains to be seen.
