Former West Ham United star Lee Bowyer can’t get his head around Josh Cullen coincidence.

West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen suffered a dislocated shoulder on Tuesday night.

Cullen, on loan from West Ham at Charlton, was forced off after 80 minutes of the Addicks’ 2-0 win away to Walsall in League One last night.

The 22-year-old has been brilliant for Charlton boss Lee Bowyer this season and it remains to be seen how long he will be absent.

Bizarrely, Igor Vetokele suffered the exact same injury as the West Ham prospect last night in an ‘unreal’ coincidence which has baffled the former Hammers midfielder.

He told Charlton’s official website: “He’s [Vetokele] dislocated his shoulder, he’s gone to hospital. Josh Cullen dislocated his shoulder, it’s just unreal.

“Saturday we got two hamstrings, today we get two dislocated shoulders, it’s just not normal.”

At 22, Cullen, whose West Ham contract expires next summer, really needs an excellent second half of the season to stand any chance of earning a new deal in East London.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 ace, who has three Premier League appearances under his belt, is at an age where he should be playing top-flight regularly if he was good enough, but time will tell whether he can make a big step up next season.
