Tottenham Hotspur are set to take on Monaco in Champions League action tonight.

Ledley King has refused to rule out Tottenham Hotspur winning the Champions League this season, when posed the question on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 14th September.
Tottenham start their European campaign tonight, with a match against Monaco at Wembley Stadium.
Spurs are not amongst the favourites to win the Champions League this term, but King feels that it could be a possibility – if his former side are able to make it to the knockout stages.

“As we’ve seen with Leicester, it is possible,” King said, when asked whether Tottenham could win the Champions League.
“If we are able to get through this draw, you just never know. This team is a team which is not easy to beat. Especially over two legs moving forward. Fingers crossed. It’s a tough ask, but we’ll see how far we can go.”
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has already admitted that his side have nothing to lose in the Champions League, as the pressure is off them.

Tottenham’s main target this term is to win the Premier League, but they have added depth to their squad to ensure that they have enough quality to compete in both competitions.
Spurs’ group in the Champions League appears to be a winnable one, with the Lilywhites drawn alongside Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow.
After Tottenham’s match against Monaco this evening, Pochettino’s side’s attention will return to domestic matters – with a match against Sunderland next up at the weekend.
