Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King is a big fan of his former club’s back four.
During an exclusive interview with 101 Great Goals, Spurs legend Ledley King offered high praise for his former club’s current defenders, but backed his chances of getting in the side, if he were still playing in his prime.
Tottenham’s defence is widely considered to be the strongest in the Premier League, if not Europe, with Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker all forming a formidable partnership in front of the impressive Hugo Lloris.

King made 323 appearances for Spurs, despite his career being hampered by injuries.
He discussed the current set up at White Hart Lane during an interview with 101 Great Goals, and responded to a question asking if he thought he would have made the current starting line-up, if he were still in his prime:
“Yes! Well, I think the player I was, I would back myself at anytime, so I would never answer a question like that and say no, but I would like to say that I am more than happy with the two defenders that we have – Vertonghen and Alderweireld.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s men seem to have got their Premier League campaign back on track, after two wins from their last three outings, and with a very winnable run of games leading up to their huge clash with Chelsea at White Hart Lane on January 4th, they could potentially be very much back in the title race come the start of the new year.
