Spurs ran out 3-1 winners over Los Blancos, and they largely dominated the contest.
The result will rank among the greatest in Tottenham history and King, who was in attendance at Wembley, was ecstatic to be able to watch the game alongside his former teammate Rafael van der Vaart, calling the whole evening ‘magical’.
Tottenham were absolutely sensational against Madrid, as they sent out a statement to the rest of Europe.
Spurs took the lead when Dele Alli latched on to Kieran Trippier’s cross to poke the ball home from close range, and they never looked back.
An out of sorts Madrid could not cope with Spurs’ attacking quality, as Alli and Christian Eriksen hit the back of the net to extend Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s advantage.
Cristiano Ronaldo did pull one back from Madrid but it was not to be enough, as Tottenham confirmed their place in the Champions League knockout stages.
