Ledley King admitted being surprised by West Ham United star Felipe Anderson, while he also lauded teammate Issa Diop.

Ledley King suggested during Sky Sports’ live coverage of West Ham’s win at Tottenham over the weekend (broadcast on 27/4 from 11:30) that he was surprised to learn how many games Felipe Anderson has played for the Hammers this term, while he also lauded Issa Diop’s display for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
The Hammers have became the first visiting side to score and subsequently win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Michail Antonio latched onto a pass from Marko Arnautovic to bag the winner.
Pellegrini’s men could have actually won more comfortably as Diop produced an outstanding run from the back that left him through on goal. Unfortunately for the centre-back however, he scuffed his effort. But it did not matter.
However, his overall performance on the day received plenty of plaudits, and some of that praise came from Spurs legend King, who joked that his effort on goal was the only disappointing aspect of his display.

“Yeah I was impressed by it. Big, strong, quick, composed. So yeah, I thought he had a good performance. The only bit missing out his game was the finishing today. But apart from that, very good,” he told Sky Sports.
The game was Anderson’s 35th league appearance in his first season in the Premier League. And ahead of the game, King admitted that he was surprised to learn that the Brazilian had been such an ever-present during his maiden year at the London Stadium.

“Yeah because I know how demanding this league is, so for him to have been involved in virtually every game is impressive,” he said, when asked whether he was surprised to learn how many games Anderson has played this term.
With little left to play for this season, it was arguably an excellent achievement for West Ham to go and become the team to spoil Spurs’ flawless record at their new home. And with the side still boasting an outside chance of finishing in the top-half of the table, Pellegrini will be hoping that his team can win their final two games to give themselves a shot of sneaking up the standings.
