Tottenham Hotspur are expected to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this season.
During an interview with the club’s official website, Spurs legend Ledley King offered his thoughts on his former side’s trip to the Etihad to take on Manchester City today, and highlighted two players who could prove to be key to Tottenham’s chances of success.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have been in impressive form of late, having won six consecutive Premier League games, and currently sit in second position in the table, seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, but three points ahead of today’s opponents.

The Lilywhites won 2-1 in the corresponding fixture last season, and are heavily fancied to repeat that feat later on this evening.
And King, who made 323 appearances for Spurs, highlighted an area of the pitch where the game could be won and lost, when speaking to TottenhamHotspur.com:
“I thought when we played them at home we limited David Silva’s space and he wasn’t able to dictate the game. For me, Silva is huge for them and when he’s not able to dictate the game it takes away a big part of what they want to do in those forward areas. More than anything, that cuts off the main supply to Sergio Aguero. Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele will have an important job to get around Silva and disrupt him.”

Tottenham have proven all season that they can compete with the big boys, with home wins over City and Chelsea, draws with Liverpool and Arsenal, and an unlucky away defeat to Manchester United.
And if Pochettino’s men can play with the same intensity today in which they have been of late, there is no reason why they cannot compete the double over the Citizens.
