The former Spurs captain believes the team have the solidity and work ethic to win the Premier League title.

Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King has admitted to Reuters, as quoted by the Sun, that he would have loved to have played in the current Spurs side because of their defensive solidity and work ethic.
Spurs drew 1-1 with Leicester City at White Hart Lane on Saturday to extend their unbeaten start to the Premier League season to 10 games.
They will be disappointed to have dropped points for a third game in a row, particularly after having taken a lead at the end of the first half, but they remain the only team yet to suffer defeat this season in the top flight.
Ahmed Musa’s equaliser for the Foxes shortly after half-time was just the fifth goal that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have conceded in the league so far this term.

King has been impressed with what he has seen from his old side so far this season, and admits that he would have loved to have be a part of the current starting XI.
The former centre-back said, via the Sun: “Everyone wanted to see how Spurs would bounce back after the end of last season and I think they’ve shown they are a team that have to be taken seriously as title contenders. I’ve been very impressed with them so far this season.
“Even when the team haven’t played to their best they’ve still managed to find a way to get a result and that’s what you need to do if you want to be a team that tries to win the league.”

“This is a Spurs side I would have loved to play in, for sure. They’re very defensively solid but this team has a great work ethic. When you’re a defender and you see the players in front of you working hard to make sure you don’t concede, it makes everyone’s job easier.”
Spurs’ central defensive partnership of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen has been impressive so far this term, but there likely are not many supporters who would not like to see King in his prime partnering Alderweireld in the centre of their backline.
However, the current defence looks good enough to help Pochettino’s side sustain a serious season-long push for the title and Spurs fans will be hoping to see that continue.
