Tottenham Hotspur sealed their first signing of the summer on Friday, and Ledley King is delighted.

Ledley King has claimed on Twitter that he is “very impressed” by Tottenham Hotspur’s capture of centre-back Davinson Sanchez.

Tottenham announced that they have signed the 21-year-old, who joins from Ajax in a £40 million deal according to according to The Mirror’s transfer zone (entry posted at 17:16 on August 18).

The Colombia international is the first player Spurs have signed this summer, and legendary Lilywhites figure King believes he will be a “quality addition” to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Davinson ruled himself out of Ajax’s last Eredivise clash, despite being fit to play, and has not trained with the Dutch giants in days.

As a result, it remains to be seen whether he is fit to make his debut in Tottenham’s visit of Chelsea to Wembley this weekend.

Nevertheless, Spurs fans have waited all summer for a bit of excitement in the transfer market, so they can wait a little longer to see what their club’s £40 million has bought.

Sanchez will undoubtedly add yet another element of steel to an already-solid defence, slotting in alongside Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in one of the best back-three combinations in Europe.
