LeBron James appears ready to mend his frosty relationship with Drake, even if he was never really the one throwing punches.

The Los Angeles Lakers star raised eyebrows this week after reposting an Instagram reel set to a song by the Canadian rapper. Drake has spent much of the past two years aiming digs at LeBron in his music, making the choice of soundtrack a curious one.

The repost left followers of both men puzzled. The two have been at odds since 2024, though the friction has only ever traveled in one direction. LeBron never seemed all that bothered by it — and now he looks happy enough to let the whole thing go.

LeBron James waves white flag with Drake

The bad blood traces back to June 2024, when James showed up at Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Pop Out’ concert in Los Angeles on Juneteenth.

Lamar ran through several of his Drake diss tracks that night, including the chart-topping ‘Not Like Us.’ LeBron was filmed dancing and rapping along, and the rapper noticed.

Drake has hit back more than once. He covered a tattoo of LeBron’s old St. Vincent-St. Mary high school jersey with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Thunder jersey, and name-checked him on tracks ‘Fighting Irish’ and ‘Make Them Remember.’

On the latter, he took aim at his old pal’s career path, casting his success as the result of always switching to the winning side.

The apparent peace offering came on Instagram. LeBron spent the week in Scotland with old Cleveland Cavaliers teammates — Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and Richard Jefferson among them — marking 10 years since their title run.

Jefferson posted a reel of himself and a DJ vibing to Drake’s ‘Shabang’, captioned: “When you’re 45 and the boys are drinking like they’re 25.”

The NBA legend reposted, and the fact it ran over a Drake song was enough to throw fans of both global superstars.

In truth, LeBron was never much of a player in this feud. He brushed off talk of real friction with Drake last year. Sharing his music to millions of followers suggests he is happy to leave it behind.
