LeBron James is new to golf, but it’s fair to say he’s caught the bug.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer was first seen playing this summer and has since frequently mentioned the sport in post-game interviews, and even admitted that he doesn’t watch many NBA games because he’s watching YouTube golf.

James had a golf simulator built in his house recently so he can get in some extra hours of practice, as he hopes to catch some of the best golfers in the NBA, which includes Stephen Curry and teammate Austin Reaves.

And he’s been given a helping hand by PGA Tour pros, who all took some time to give James swing tips in a recent video.

What PGA Tour players thought about LeBron James’ golf swing

A number of PGA Tour players were shown a video of James’ golf swing on the tour’s social media account, and they gave the four-time NBA champion some pointers.

2025 US Open winner JJ Spaun did flip most of the responsibility onto his son, Bronny James, however, saying,” Looks like he sets up a little open. I would maybe add a little knee flex. Or he could just talk to his son, Bronny. He’s got a really good swing. Maybe Bronny could give him some tips.”

Akshay Bhatia agreed with Spaun’s initial comments, saying James looked like a slicer: “He looks like he would just slice it all the time. His shoulders are very open.

“Through it looks ok, though. I mean, he aims right, his shoulders are open, and that’s a recipe for a slice. I would have him, with the driver, especially, tilt his shoulders. I mean, he’s a great athlete, so I think he can figure it out pretty fast.”

Billy Horschel and Cameron Young also had some technical advice, with Horschel commenting, “He needs to learn how to rotate. Keep the arms more out front of him a little bit, not pull the arms in.”

Young added, “He would benefit from being a little wider on the way back. I would tell him, just a little bit longer in his right arm, try to get the club a little more out, away from him. I think he’d hit it a lot farther.”

Keegan Bradley says if LeBron James has a better golf swing than Michael Jordan

The debate on who is the greatest NBA player of all time has raged for nearly a decade, as fans argue between Michael Jordan and James. But on the golf course, there’s little comparison.

Jordan has long been an avid golfer and reportedly plays off a -1.3 handicap. And when Keegan Bradley saw James’ swing, Jordan came straight to mind.

The 2025 US Ryder Cup captain said, “It’s not that bad. I mean, I know he’s a beginner, but MJ’s swing is better.”

Sorry LeBron, but you have started far too late to catch up with Jordan’s golfing ability!
