LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 107 to 98 victory over the Houston Rockets in their playoff opener last Saturday.

While Luke Kennard’s 27 point performance stood out, it was James who controlled the game and ensured the Lakers made a strong start to the series.

At 41, he continues to set the standard, delivering another display that reinforced his standing among the greatest postseason performers.

James finished the game with 19 points and 13 assists, recording his 145th postseason double-double.

According to Underdog NBA, that achievement means only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has registered a playoff double-double at an older age.

He also came close to a triple-double, adding eight rebounds to underline his all-around impact.

Even in his fourth decade, James remains capable of influencing games at the highest level with consistency and control.

Only two players remain ahead of LeBron James regarding postseason double-doubles

Despite his latest milestone, two legends still sit above James in total playoff double-doubles.

Tim Duncan leads the list with 164, while Magic Johnson follows with 157.

James now stands within reach of at least one of those marks if he continues playing into next season, which is likely to happen.
