LeBron James has broken his silence on speculation surrounding his future with the Los Angeles Lakers by delivering a short but cryptic response to reporters.

LeBron James was asked whether he expects to finish the season with the Los Angeles Lakers as rumors continue to grow beyond the February 5 trade deadline into the summer, where he becomes a free agent.

As the deadline nears, the veteran forward’s words have sparked renewed attention over whether his long-term commitment to the franchise remains unchanged.

LeBron James responds to LA Lakers’ future speculation

After the Lakers’ 112–104 loss to the LA Clippers, LeBron James was asked directly if he planned to stay with the Los Angeles Lakers beyond this season.

“I’m good,” he said, repeating the phrase before choosing not to expand further.

The Lakers continue to evaluate their roster ahead of the deadline. James has a no-trade clause built into his contract, meaning any move would require his consent.

James, now in his 23rd NBA season, appeared calm and deliberate in his comments, signaling he is not seeking change mid-season. He is currently averaging 22.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game for Los Angeles.

LeBron James brushes off Jeanie Buss report

LeBron James also downplayed reports of tension with Lakers governor Jeanie Buss, telling ESPN that he “doesn’t care how somebody feels” about him.

The remarks came after an ESPN report detailed Buss’ frustrations over prior trade discussions and her perception of James’ role within team decision-making.

“At the end of the day, when I came to this organization, my whole mindset was about restoring excellence,” LeBron James said. “I was able to do that, winning a championship here. I don’t care about stories. I don’t care how somebody feels about me.”

With the Lakers entering a crucial part of their season, LeBron James’ measured but cryptic comments have reignited speculation about his future.

For now, his message remains the same — he is focused on finishing the campaign and letting his performance do the talking.
