Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita will leave Anfield at the end of the season on a free transfer, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg on Twitter.
Plettenberg has claimed that Keita will leave Liverpool when his current contract at the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners runs out in the summer of 2023.
A new deal is unlikely at this stage, according to the journalist, who has added that a number of clubs are interested in him, and that the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder could return to Germany.
Keita joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig.

No big surprise
We are not surprised at all that Naby Keita will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
It has simply not worked out for the midfielder at Anfield.
Keita has had injury problems during his time at Liverpool, and when he has played, he has not been at his best.
The Guinea international central midfielder needs to find another club where he will get a consistent run of games.
He is still only 27.
On a free transfer, Keita would be a good signing for a club in Europe who are playing in the UEFA Champions League or aspiring to do so.
