Leandro Trossard uses two-words to describe Liverpool & Anfield after stunning hat-trick

Leandro Trossard has hailed Anfield as ‘tough’ and labelled Liverpool as a ‘superb’ team after Brighton and Hove Albion’s 3-3 draw on Merseyside, as he told his club’s official YouTube account.

Only two players have previously rocked up to Anfield and put three or more goals on the table for themselves – Peter Ndlovu for Coventry City and Andriy Arshavin’s ridiculous four in Arsenal colours.

Well, Trossard can now add his name to that list, as he made an already-struggling Liverpool side look even more abject in front of their own supporters on Saturday.

A lot has been made about Liverpool’s defending this season, with individuals being singled out, the main two culprits have been Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.

Well, the duo, alongside Joel Matip and Kostas Tsimikas produced another performance to forget for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Trossard shared how he thinks a point for either side was a fair result and both teams could have scored a lot more.

“It’s always nice if you can score and it’s three at Anfield,” said Trossard. “It’s a shame we couldn’t get the three points, but we are still happy with a point at Anfield.

“It’s always a tough game (at Anfield) and it’s a superb team – we both could have scored more, but a draw, in the end, is probably fair. You always want more, especially if you are 2-0 up. In the end, we should be happy with a point and I think it’s a great performance from us.

On his great record against Liverpool: “I love all fixtures. You always want to show yourself in the best possible way. Hopefully, I can carry this form on. We reacted brilliantly when we went down as well.”

In recent seasons, Trossard would have watched Ben White, Yves Bissouma and manager Graham Potter head to clubs that are currently competing in Europe.

There seems to be a production line of talent that is being expertly scouted by those at the Amex Stadium and Trossard is just another one showcasing his worth.

Given that the Belgian has seen others move on to bigger and better things, then in this form, he will also want that move if it suits all parties.

There have been previous suggestions that Arsenal are keen to take the versatile forward on board – he has less than one-year left to run on his contract, so this could be an interesting one.
