Fenerbahce have joined their fierce rivals Galatasaray in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Turkish outlet Takvim recently claimed that the former have now entered the fray for Tanguy Ndombele‘s signature after the latter’s failure to agree a deal with Tottenham.

According to the report, Fenerbahce have made a proposal to sign the Frenchman on loan with an option to buy. However, it is believed that Spurs only want to sell their asset permanently this transfer window.

With the north London club knocking back Fenerbahce’s offer, Galatasaray still have the chance to land their target.

Ndombele cost Tottenham £63m in total following his move from Lyon back in 2019, but he has struggled to make an impact at the Premier League side, hence their willingness to get rid of him.

Tottenham may have to loan out Tanguy Ndombele again

It is clear that Tottenham want Ndombele off their books for good, but shifting a player with his kind of wages is not going to be easy.

It means Spurs may once again have to sanction just a temporary exit for the 26-year-old.

From Ndombele’s perspective, whether it is a loan move or a permanent transfer, he needs to depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before the transfer window closes. Again, his move there has just not worked out and there are several midfield players currently ahead of him in the pecking order.

The likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur when the Uruguayan is fit again are individuals you would expect to start ahead of Ndombele if he remains part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Tottenham would never have paid over £60m for a player with little skill or ability. It is clear from Ndombele’s Lyon days that he has those things.

However, the France international has not been able to showcase his talent in north London, and now could be a good time for him to leave the English capital.
