Expect Kenny Miller to land a new contract if Billy Davies gets the Rangers gig.
Former Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies
Former Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies is among the leading candidates to land the vacant Rangers job, according to bookies SkyBet.
If he does get the nod, then it can only be good news for veteran striker Kenny Miller, who is hoping to win a contract extension.
Davies once paid £3 million to sign Kenny Miller for Derby County, luring him away from Rangers’ bitter rivals Celtic.
Rangers’ Kenny Miller celebrates scoring
Hailing the forward at the time, Davies told The BBC: “He is a proven goalscorer both at club and international level and gives us a different option up front.
“He is a player with a never-say-die attitude and outstanding commitment.”
These are the qualities Davies looks to instil in his teams, and it would be a complete shock if the manager decided to allow Miller to walk out the door this summer should he be appointed.
Davies is not the only candidate, with Frank de Boer, Alex McLeish and even Kevin Muscat among the candidates, but some of his former players have come out fighting his corner.
