Bundesliga outfit Dortmund have a lot of experience in playing in the Champions League and reached the final of the competition when Jurgen Klopp – now the manager of Liverpool – was in charge.

Apoel are the underdogs in Group H, but the Cypriot First Division club reached the quarter-finals back during the 2011-12 season.

Former Southampton attacking midfielder Le Tissier does not expect Spurs to progress past the group stage of the Champions League this campaign.

Le Tissier, though, believes that Tottenham can get the better of Spanish and European giants Madrid at the Wembley Stadium in London.

Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Spurs looks on prior to the Pre-Season Friendly match beween Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus at Wembley Stadium on August 5, 2017 in London, England.

“What chance do I give them?” Le Tissier wrote on Skysports.com. “I would say they’ve probably got about 40 per cent chance of getting out of that group.

“They’re a good team and capable of beating anybody on their day and, if they get their act together there, you wouldn’t put it past them beating Real Madrid at home.

“I’d just favour Dortmund, marginally, but if they were playing at White Hart Lane I’d make it a 50/50.”
