Southampton produced a magnificent display during their 2-1 win over Inter Milan on Thursday.
Speaking live on Sky Sports’ Gillette Soccer Saturday at 13:26, Saints legend Matt Le Tissier shared his delight at his former side’s victory over Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday night, after the Italian’s disgraceful array of tackling, grappling and continual time-wasting tactics.
Claude Puel’s men ran out 2-1 winners in the end, in spite of a missed penalty from Dusan Tadic during first-half injury time, and looked every inch the part of genuine Europa League contenders.

Le Tissier, who made 543 appearances for the South Coast club, told the Sky Sports panel how he feels Inter deserved absolutely nothing from the game in response to a question regarding the Italians ‘dirty’ tactics:
“It was shocking. I was so relieved that we actually won that football match, because their behaviour didn’t deserve to take anything from that game. Fantastic second half from Southampton, and a real buzz in the stadium, and that’s given everyone a massive lift, because the Chelsea game on Sunday was a bit flat.”
Despite struggling to adapt to Puel’s methods and philosophies initially, the Southampton players have now fully settled into their roles and what is expected of them.

They currently sit in ninth position the the Premier League table after an impressive run that has seen them win three and draw two of their last six league outings.
They are also in a very comfortable position in Group K of the Europa League, and need one more win from their final two games to secure their qualification through to the knock-out stages.
Exciting times indeed for Saints fans.
