Southampton won against Inter Milan in the Europa League on Thursday.
Matt Le Tissier and Kevin Davies have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Southampton’s win against Inter Milan on Thursday evening.
Southampton got the better of Italian outfit Inter 2-1 at St. Mary’s Stadium in Europa League Group K.
Mauro Icardi put the Serie A side in the lead in the 33rd minute, but Virgil van Dijk restored parity for the Saints in the 64th minute.
Then five minutes later, Yuto Nagatomo scored an own goal, as the Premier League team won 2-1.
Le Tissier and Davies were following the match, and the former Southampton duo have taken to Twitter to revel in the win.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. Mary’s Stadium on Thursday evening, hosts Southampton had 57% of the possession, took 23 shots of which just six were on target, and earned nine corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Inter had 43% of the possession, took five shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
Southampton are second in Group K with seven points from four matches, just two points behind leaders Sparta Prague.
