On loan Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina created history when he saved a Mario Balotelli penalty over the weekend.
Reina became the first goalkeeper to deny former Manchester City striker Balotelli from the penalty spot as Napoli secured a 2-0 win in a difficult fixture against AC Milan.
Napoli have made a fantastic start to the Serie A season and part of that is down to the form of their goalkeeper, Liverpool’s Pepe Reina. They sit fifth in the table with a 100% record from all games so far.
Liverpool drafted in Simon Mignolet over the summer to become their new long term number one but Reina gave a glimpse that he’s still got the world class touch, with a strong right handed save to deny the Italian from 12 yards for the very first time.

Reina looks set to leave Liverpool permanently at the end of the season, which is a shame because he’d be more than a useful asset if the Reds could convince him to stay at Anfield.
Take a look.
Poor penalty or good goalkeeping?
