United are reported to be tracking the 19-year-old defender after the start of the season has seen the club plagued by injuries to key defenders in the squad. Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly been considering a move for Varane since the summer.

Foster now plays for West Brom and has admitted that he doesn’t think he was determined enough to adhere to the United way of thinking in the drive for domestic and European trophies. Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe has been charged with drink driving after an incident which happened last Saturday. The 19-year-old is highly regarded at the club and is due to appear in court next week. There has been no word from United over any disciplinary action they will take.
