West Ham United fans have been having their say on Twitter after the club’s new home shirt was leaked online.
West Ham fans
Hammers fans love to see a bit of effort made with their kits whether they respect tradition, go retro or try to be original.
The Hammers revealed a first ever black away kit last month which, on the whole, went down well with supporters.
While there is nothing in the club’s history linked to black kits, fans generally liked the colours and design in what should prove a popular strip when it goes on sale.
The same cannot be said, though, for the all-important home shirt.
Pictures of the new Hammers claret and blue kit on sale in a sports shop in Thailand were leaked online and confirmed as genuine by sources close to the club.
And the reaction has been the polar opposite to that which greeted the away kit, with supporters slamming the club and kit maker Umbro for the design.
The claret in the West Ham badge does not match the claret on the leaked shirt
Fans have accused Umbro of producing a ‘boring’ kit with zero effort to honour previous kits or attention to detail to create something new.
A big irritant is the fact that the claret on the club’s badge does not match the claret on the kit while the Umbro detailing on the arms has also been heavily criticised.
Of course Hammers boss Slaven Bilic won’t care what kit his side wears just as long as they perform in it come next
