Florian Thauvin could leave Newcastle United this summer.
Newcastle’s Florian Thauvin
Florian Thauvin will not remember his time at Newcastle United fondly, having quit the club on loan after just six months.
His return to Marseille did not go well either and his future remains unclear.
The Chronicle reported late last month that Thauvin was a target for Lazio, who were set to appoint his former Marseille manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Yet Bielsa dramatically quit Lazio after just two days in charge, and is expected to take charge of the Argentine national team instead.
Thauvin’s move to Lazio remains very much alive, despite Bielsa no longer being present.
Tuttomercatoweb cite fellow Italian outlet Premium Sport, stating that Thauvin remains on Lazio’s radar and their interest is still ‘very real’.

So far Newcastle are yet to receive an offer, but in the mean time they will have to decide whether they would prefer to cut their losses and sell Thauvin now, or send him on loan for the season and make a choice in a year’s time.
The ideal solution would be for Thauvin to stay and help Newcastle in the Championship, but this what he had in mind when he joined the club 12 months ago.
