Sunderland, Swansea City and Celtic are reportedly interested in Lawrence Shankland of Ayr United.
According to WalesOnline, Scottish Premiership side Celtic are interested in signing Shankland from Ayr in January.
The Daily Record has claimed of interest in the 23-year-old striker from Sunderland in League One and Swansea in the Championship in England.
Shankland is out of contract at Ayr at the end of the season, and the Scottish youngster has suggested that he does not plan to leave the club in January.
The 23-year-old striker, though, has suggested that if Ayr – who are aiming to win automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship to the Scottish Premiership – accept a fee for him, then it will be out of his control.
The Daily Record quotes Shankland as saying: “I won’t be knocking anyone’s door asking for a move. I’m more than happy here and will be doing everything I can to see out the season with Ayr.
“There’s a lot of talk about offers being made but there has never been anything official. If the club get offered something they can’t turn down, that is their call.”
In-form striker
Shankland is one of the best young players in the Scottish Championship and is playing well for Ayr at the moment.
The 23-year-old striker has scored 16 goals in 15 Scottish Championship appearances for Ayr so far this season, according to WhoScored.
