Things just keep getting better and better for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez after he starred once again for Argentina on Tuesday night.
The Villa shot-stopper helped his country secure a 1-0 win over Colombia in their World Cup qualifier – his 16th cap, yet to be beaten and a staggering 11 clean sheets to boot.
Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez was the man who scored the only goal of the game yesterday and he sent the following message in the comments section of his fellow countryman’s Instagram “Beautiful night brother,” said Martinez.
Villa fans are now used to getting up early in the morning, checking their phones and seeing that Martinez has done bits once again on the international stage.
Well, he was at it again yesterday by pulling off a number of high-quality saves, including one from point-blank range to deny Miguel Borja.

The 29-year-old’s rise during these past two seasons has been quite remarkable and a big reason as to why he helped Argentina win the Copa America in the summer.
Martinez will now hope all of that translates to the domestic stage and success with a Villa side on the up.
With Steven Gerrard at the helm, Villa will feel they can return to Europe and add trophies to their cabinet once more.
Whilst that won’t happen during this current campaign, there is every chance of the Midlands side doing bits next season.
And with a squad that is slowly surging forward, they have every chance of getting into those top-six places.
