Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has urged the side to remain grounded despite their recent fine form, speaking to the club’s official website.

The Gunners have enjoyed a strong start to the season as they have picked up 13 points from their first six games.

Last weekend saw them put in their best performance to date as they comfortably beat Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates, and they followed that up with a confident win over FC Basel in the Champions League in midweek.

It means they head into Sunday’s clash with Burnley confident of securing all three points, but Koscielny has warned his team not to get ahead of themselves.

“We have been better for the past two or three weeks and we need to keep this and not to think that because we played well [previously], the results will come,” he told the club’s official website.

“We need to fight on the pitch and defend together, to be better in the transition from offence to defence and from defence to attack. It is very important to keep our feet on the floor, to work and then the results will come.”

Koscielny is certainly wise to warn Arsenal to not get ahead of themselves so early in the season if at any point.

They were leading the table half way through last season and looked destined to be title winners at the end of the campaign.

Instead, they ended up finishing 10 points behind winners Leicester City after a disastrous second half to the campaign.

That serves as a warning that getting ahead of themselves is unwise, and they would be smart to take Koscielny’s advice to heart.
