Laurens De Bock has told LUTV after completing his permanent move to Leeds that everyone was telling him ahead of his Elland Road switch that the Championship side are a beautiful club.

De Bock has become Leeds’ third signing of the January transfer window – following the deals for Aapo Halme and Yosuke Ideguchi – after the club confirmed on their official website that he has joined from Club Brugge on a four-and-a-half year deal.

And after putting pen to paper on his permanent transfer, the 25-year-old explained what he was told after asking others what they knew about Thomas Christiansen’s side.

“I heard a lot about Leeds United. To every player who played in England, I asked a few questions and everybody said the same: that it’s a beautiful club,” he told LUTV.

“And I also know when I was young, they were playing in the Premier League and everyone has the same beautiful words about Leeds.”

Leeds fans will desperately be hoping that the Belgian hits the ground running following his move to England as they desperately need a left-back who is going to stamp his authority on the role.

Gaetano Berardi has done well at times, but with Luke Ayling now out for the rest of the season, it would be no surprise if he moved across to the right-hand side. Meanwhile, neither Vurnon Anita or Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have particularly impressed when they have been given a chance.

The club have confirmed on their official website that De Bock could make his debut for the Whites this weekend when Leeds travel to face Ipswich Town at Portman Road looking to hold onto their top six spot.
