The Arsenal legend has backed his former club to move for the Manchester United forward.

Former Arsenal invincible Lauren sat down for an exclusive interview with sportingbet, and suggested that the Gunners would be crazy not to make a move for Anthony Martial, if the Frenchman fails to extend his contract with Manchester United.
The 22-year-old’s current deal at Old Trafford expires in the summer of 2019, and should he fail to agree terms on a new contract, he will be available on a free transfer at the end of this season.
Martial joined United from Monaco in the summer of 2015, for a fee that could eventually rise to more than £60 million, but he has never really lived up to his undeniable potential, scoring just 43 goals in 152 appearances.
He doesn’t seem to be given the creative freedom that he needs to flourish under Jose Mourinho, and a move to Arsenal might just be what he needs to reinvigorate his career.
That’s what Lauren believes anyway.
The former Gunners ace spoke exclusively to sportingbet, and said Unai Emery would be crazy not to move for Martial if the 22-year-old doesn’t sign a new deal with Manchester United:

“If Martial doesn’t renew his contract at Man Utd, Arsenal would be crazy not to try and snap him up. He’s a fantastic player and is starting to show what he can really do when given a good run of games. Martial won’t go anywhere without being guaranteed first team football, which I think he would get at Arsenal.”
Arsenal could really do with more quality in the wide attacking department, and Martial would undoubtedly be a superb addition for them.
And if the north London outfit manage to snare him on a free transfer, it could turn out to be a real coup for them.
