Leeds United suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Crawley Town in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Premier League club Leeds were expected to win against Crawley, but they conceded three goals in the second half to the League Two outfit.

While the home team stepped up their game after the break and played well, Marcelo Bielsa’s side made mistakes and did not make it easy for themselves.

Kiko Casilla could have done better for the second goal that Leeds conceded, and the first one that he shipped in probably could have been saved as well.

Noel Whelan was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and the former Leeds striker noticed something rather worrying when the Whites conceding the second goal.

Whelan said on BBC Radio Leeds (2:40pm, January 10, 2021): “You see the Crawley manager laughing away, rightly so. That was an absolute joke of a goal to give away there.”

The Englishman added: “What has the goalkeeper done there? I really can’t see how that ball can go in.”

Worrying for Leeds United

Crawley manager John Yems was probably laughing because he was happy to see his side score against a Leeds team who have been very impressive in the Premier League so far this season.

However, it is worrying for the Whites that their back-up goalkeeper Casilla did not play well.

Illian Meslier is the first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds, and while the Frenchman is doing well, it must be noted that he is only 20 years of age.
