Sunderland are in dire need of a new striker, following the departure of Lewis Grabban, but they are limited with what they can do.
The Black Cats only have a small budget, and are working on loan deals rather than permanent signings.
Woodburn would have been one of the most exciting transfers available to Sunderland, but it now seems that they will have to look elsewhere.
