Are the Preston North End and ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers bosses set to rival McInnes for the vacant Sunderland position?
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes
Derek McInnes remains the strong favourite to replace David Moyes at Sunderland, according to Sky Bet‘s latest odds.
The Aberdeen manager is 1/3 to take the Stadium of Light reins, drifting slightly from 2/5 on Bank Holiday Monday.
Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough [5/1 to 13/2] has also moved over the past 24 hours, but is still second in the running despite fresh links with Preston’s Simon Grayson and Barnsley’s Paul Heckingbottom – a former Sunderland player.

And while Grayson has climbed to 8/1 third favourite, Heckingbottom [20/1] does not even make the top ten.
Paul Lambert has also had his odds shortened after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday, although the Scot remains an outsider at 14/1.

Lambert, who was linked with Sunderland by the Chronicle on Friday, is expected to be replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo at Molineux, after an alleged difference of opinion with Wolves owners Fosun International.
HITC Sport understands that Grayson is also wanted by Hull City.
