Alan Pardew, who spent four years in charge of Newcastle United, is behind only Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes on Sky Bet’s list of likely Sunderland appointments.

Former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is now second favourite to succeed David Moyes at Sunderland, according to Sky Bet.
Pardew, who spent four years on Tyneside, was listed as an early contender to take charge of Newcastle’s fierce rivals, but soon drifted down the bookies’ list of likely appointments.
However, the 55-year-old is now priced at 6/1 to move to Sunderland, with only Derek McInnes – the 1/3 favourite – ahead of him.

Nigel Clough’s odds continue to drift, with the Burton Albion boss now 10/1, while recently linked pair Simon Grayson, of Preston North End, and Paul Lambert, who left Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday, are 12/ and 14/1 respectively.
Former Norwich City boss Alex Neil is 16/1, along with former Sunderland players Paul Heckingbottom and Kevin Philiips, of Barnsley and Derby County [assistant coach] respectively.

Pardew endured a wretched final year at Crystal Palace, in which the Eagles performed the worst of any club in England’s top four divisions.
And even without his Newcastle connections, his appointment would unlikely go down well with Sunderland’s fans.
Would you take Pardew as Sunderland’s next boss?
