West Ham United are reportedly trying to sign Salomon Rondon from West Bromwich Albion, after he spent last season at Newcastle United.

If West Ham United get Salomon Rondon for just £12 million then Newcastle United fans would be entitled to feel even more frustrated about missing out.
Rondon had spent last season on Newcastle and was hugely impressive, but the club would not sanction a deal – and that played a part in Rafael Benitez’s exit.
If Rondon now does move to West Ham for just £12 million it will be an even more bitter pill to taste.
It was bad enough that Newcastle would not move for Rondon when he was valued at £16.5 million, but if he does make a switch to West Ham for even less than that, it will be even harder to stomach.

Newcastle were reluctant to move for Rondon due to a lack of re-sale value, but when he might be available for so cheap, that seems ridiculous.
Rondon was Newcastle’s Player of the Season last year, and with all the riches that Premier League football offers, not bringing him in makes little sense.
West Ham must be delighted at Newcastle’s hesitation though, as Rondon could be one of the best value for money transfers of the summer.
