Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Nicolo Zaniolo of AS Roma.

Nicolo Zaniolo of Italy looks on during the 2020 UEFA European Championships group J qualifying match between Italy and Finland at Stadio Friuli on March 23, 2019 in Udine, Italy.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Tottenham scouts believe that the 19-year-old midfielder fits the bill for the North London outfit.

The Italy international is a very talented and promising young midfielder who has a bright future ahead of him, and it does not come as a surprise that Spurs are reportedly looking at the teenager.

However, the latest report regarding Zaniolo emanating from Italy suggests that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will not find it easy to secure the transfer.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Bayern Munich have made an offer of €45 million (£38.83m) for the teenager.

It has been reported that German and European giants are also willing to offer Zaniolo a transfer fee of over €3m (£2.59m) a year.

Nicolo Zaniolo of AS Roma looks on during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 Second Leg match between FC Porto and AS Roma at Estadio do Dragao on March 06, 2019 in Porto, Portugal.

The report in the Italian news outlet, though, has claimed that Roma have turned down Bayern’s bid.

This suggests that Roma want more than what Bayern have reportedly offered him, which means that Tottenham will have pay more than £40m at least.

Will Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy be prepared to pay £40m+ for a 19-year-old?
