David Provan has written in The Scottish Sun that he hopes that Roy Keane makes a late run for the Celtic managerial job.
The Celtic legend does not seem to think that Eddie Howe would be a good managerial appointment for the Hoops.
Provan has suggested that he wants former Manchester United and Celtic midfielder Keane, 49, to take charge of the Bhoys.
The Scottish Sun has reported that former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is set to be named as the new permanent manager of the Hoops.
The Sun had reported last month that Sky Sports pundit Keane is interested in the managerial job at the Glasgow giants.
Provan wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Eddie is in the box seat to succeed Neil Lennon. Can’t argue with the job he did at Bournemouth nor with the way he handles himself.
“But the Cherries’ quaint Vitality Stadium is Sleepy Hollow compared to the demands of managing Celtic.
“It would be interesting to see how he’d handle the heat. Part of me hopes Roy Keane makes a late run to win the gig.
“If only to see those dissing Keane from a safe distance having to front up at his first media conference.”

Good managerial appointment?
Howe was superb in his managerial role at Bournemouth, as the Englishman built a good team, took them to the Premier League, and established them in the division.
Of course, like all good things, it came to an end, but it should not detract from the brilliant job he did at the Cherries.
Celtic need a rebuild in the summer and a manager who can achieve success long term, and Howe could be the right man.
