Chelsea beat Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
Frank Lampard scored an injury-time winner for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to send the Blues four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The match against Everton appeared to be heading for a goalless draw, before the England international’s late free-kick was diverted in off Toffees’ ‘keeper Tim Howard.
Everton had stood firm up to that point, with Howard pulling off a string of fine saves and Roberto Martinez’s men looking good for a point. But second-half substitute Ramires added some extra drive to the home side’s play and they were subsequently rewarded with a vital victory in the race for the title.
The result means Chelsea are four points clear (at least temporarily) while Everton are in 6th place with 45 points.
