Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Premier League (2:57pm, May 8, 2022) that Leeds United defender Luke Ayling may never play in the Premier League again following his red card against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Leeds defender Ayling was shown a straight red card in the first half of the Premier League game against Arsenal in North London on Sunday afternoon.

The right-back was dismissed for a bad challenge on Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli in the first half.

Ayling will now miss the rest of the season.

Leeds are in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League.

And former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Carragher believes that Ayling may have played his last ever Premier League game.

Carragher on Leeds defender Ayling’s red card

Carragher said about Ayling on Sky Sports Premier League (2:57pm, May 8, 2022): “That might be the last game Luke Ayling ever plays in the Premier League.”

Disappointing

In our opinion, Ayling should be disappointed with himself for the way he got himself sent off for Leeds against Arsenal.

There was no need whatsoever for the defender to lunge into the dangerous tackle on Martinelli.

Ayling should have kept his cool and should have played like a senior player.

And now Ayling will not play again for Leeds this season.
