Villa moved to appoint Steve Bruce as their new manager on Wednesday evening, and he will take charge of the club for the first time against Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening.

Bruce will be looking to analyse his squad quickly given that Villa lie just two points clear of the relegation zone, and some fringe players may be handed chances to shine.
One player who may fit into that category is attacker Gabriel Agbonlahor, who was frozen out under former boss Roberto Di Matteo.

The 30-year-old, who has been on the books at Aston Villa since 1994, has racked up 84 goals in 371 games for the club, but appears to have little long-term future with Villa having struggled for form and fitness over the last 12 months.
Bruce, as quoted by the Daily Mail, has offered Agbonlahor another chance at Villa, with everybody starting with a clean slate under Villa’s new manager.

Xia stated that everybody deserves another chance, but thinks this is now Agbonlahor’s last chance to make an impression at Villa Park, and it’s now up to him to save his career with the club.
