The former IFK Göteborg forward looked to have suffered a serious injury during Brentford’s 0-0 draw with Wigan at the weekend.

Brentford have received a major injury boost after forward Lasse Vibe took to Twitter to reassure fans over the severity of the injury he sustained in Saturday’s clash with Wigan at Griffin Park.
The Denmark international was forced from the action with a nasty looking injury during the 0-0 draw with The Latics, with Get West London reporting that the 29-year-old left the stadium on crutches with his foot in a protective boot following the game.
The news that Vibe was sporting a protective boot sparked fears amongst Bees’ fans that the Danish forward could be facing a prolonged period on the touchline, however, Vibe has today moved to allay these concerns.
Joking that the oxygen mask he was forced to wear during his medical examination made him look like Darth Vader, the video attached to Vibe’s tweet shows him undergoing a foot scan, which he claims was positive, with the forward proceeding to tell fans he ‘won’t be out for long’.

Vibe joined Brentford from IFK Gothenberg for an undisclosed fee in July, 2015 and has since gone on to make 48 appearances for The Bees in all competitions; quickly adapting to the cut and thrust of The Championship under manager Dean Smith.
The talented 29-year-old ended last season as the club’s joint top scorer after matching midfielder Alan Judge’s 14-goal haul, and the Denmark international has built upon an impressive maiden season in English football by registering two goals in four appearances for The Bees so far this season.

With Brentford currently sitting in 7th place with just one loss in their last seven games heading into the international break, Bees’ fans will hope that the two-week break from domestic action allows Vibe to recuperate from his injury before Dean Smith’s side continue their play-off push away to high-flying Newcastle on October 15th.
