Tottenham Hotspur reportedly turned down Aymeric Laporte in a swap deal involving Harry Kane, and now the Manchester City central defender is being linked with Real Madrid.
Tottenham Hotspur rejection
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano said on the Here We Go Podcast this month that Tottenham rejected City’s offer to include Laporte in a swap deal.
The Premier League champions are keen on signing Kane and offered Gabriel Jesus and Laporte in a part-exchange deal.
However, Spurs said no, according to Romano.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport at the time.
Real Madrid interest
The Daily Mail are now reporting that City are willing to sell the 27-year-old central defender and want £60 million as transfer fee.
Spanish and European giants Madrid are interested in the Spain international, and so are Italian powerhouse Juventus, according to the report.

Re-think needed?
City are willing to sell Laporte, and perhaps Tottenham should think about their stance again.
The Premier League champions remain keen on Kane, according to The Telegraph, and could come with a better offer than £125 million.
If Laporte is mentioned again in talks, then Spurs should at least consider it.
Madrid and Juventus are massive clubs, and they are not interested in players unless they are good.
Spurs signed Cristian Romero this summer and are still reportedly interested in another defender.
