West Ham prepared to give Manuel Lanzini a new contract so how much does he earn in comparison to Javier Hernandez, Joe Hart and Andy Carroll?

West Ham United want to tie Manuel Lanzini down to a new contract amid reports linking the midfielder with Liverpool, according to the Evening Standard.

The Reds view Lanzini as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following the Brazilian’s £142m switch to Barcelona during the January transfer window.

The Argentine currently has two years remaining on his £35,000-a-week deal at the London Stadium, with the option of another 12-month extension, but how does that compare to others at the club?

This is just a little more than West Ham are paying Joe Hart, who can’t even get in the team currently but earns £120,000-a-week, while the perennially injured Andy Carroll is on £90,000-a-week.

When most fans of the East Londoners would probably rank Lanzini far higher in terms of talent and importance to the team than any of those trio, the disparity in how much the 25-year-old earns in comparison to Hernandez, Hart and Carroll seems like madness.
