Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced that Jaden Philogene-Bidace had signed a new contract at Villa Park.
The highly-rated 19-year-old has committed his future to the Villans until 2024, amid interest from a number of top clubs.
The Athletic say that a handful of big European clubs from Germany, Belgium, Portugal and the Netherlands were keen on the teenager.
They were also willing to fast track him into their first-team if he left the Midlands.
However, Philogene-Bidace wanted to stay at Villa Park – The Athletic say he made it clear that his priority was to sign a new deal.
The forward is a seriously exciting talent, who has already caught Dean Smith’s eye.
As Villa’s announcement states, the 1-cap England Under-19 international – who scored a hat-trick in that one international outing – regularly trains with the first-team.
He has also travelled to games with the first-team recently.
In 11 appearances for the Under-23 side this term, he has scored five goals and recorded two assists, which isn’t bad at all.
Philogene-Bidace isn’t the only prodigy in Villa’s ranks.
The likes of Louie Barry, Carney Chukwuemeka, Jacob and Aaron Ramsey represent a bright future for the Midlands-based outfit.
